IN SEASON Organic Fresh Passionfruit Fruit Box
Our Passionfruit is locally & organically grown in San Diego. The Passionfruit is a pepo, a type of berry, round to oval, either yellow or dark purple at maturity, with a soft to firm, juicy interior filled with seeds. This small pinkish purple variety is sweet with a touch of sour. It’s ripe/ready to eat when the shell becomes wrinkly all over! If you enjoy a more sour flavor you will want to open the fruit when the skin is smooth, however for a sweeter flavor open them when wrinkly. Passionfruit is both eaten and juiced; passion fruit juice is often added to other fruit juices to enhance aroma. Add passionfruit to your favorite smoothie or spread on top of some papaya for an ultimate combination!
You will receive a medium box that has roughly 5-6 pounds of fruit (box may have mixed varieties of fruit).
How to Eat: This fruit can be eaten upon arrival. The pulp will be sweeter when the shell becomes softer and wrinkly. You can cut or pop open shell with hands. Eat pulpy seeds.
When Will I Receive my Fruit? : If fruit is IN SEASON it will take 1- 2 weeks. If fruit is out of season you may place a PREORDER which means it may take up to 6 months for your fruit to arrive. (PREORDERS will be sent on first come first serve basis).
