Organic & Non-Gmo Soncoya / Sincuya / Cabeza De Negro Fruta Seeds (Annona purpurea)

from $18.88

You are purchasing either 2 or 5 Soncoya seeds that were wild harvested in Centro America.

Annona purpurea is in the Annonaceae family. Its common names include Soncoya, Sincuya, and Cabeza de negro. The fruit is rounded, 15 to 20 centimeters wide, and covered with a felt-textured brown skin that is hard to cut open when ripe. The surface of the fruit has hooklike projections. It has many seeds which have a germination time of 1 to 6 months. Trees take about 1 to 3 years to bear and can be container grown. It is a small to medium tree reaching a maximum of 6 to 10 metres (20 to 33 ft). This plant is closely related to the cherimoya, the sugar-apple and other Annonas. The texture is very similar to soursop , except this is more fibrous with more tropical notes of flavor! It reminds me of a tropical smoothie - hints of pineapple lychee soursop melon mango in every bite! It is known that the fruit & plant have medicinal benefits.

Planting instructions will be included with package.
